Sweet Success

After spending the first half of this year focusing on my notes, books, and reviewers, I can finally detach myself from anything related to my said course and savor my vacation. Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful opportunity to start anew. All the sacrifices and troubles I've been through were truly worth it. To God be all the glory!

Remembering the instability of my heart beat before the releasing of result makes me sick to the point of not wanting to experience that kind of torture again. This explains why Medicine isn't meant for me.

Apparently, I have no plans of applying for a job as of this moment. It's a decision I've planned long before acquiring this achievement and good thing I got the approval of my mom on this.

Congratulations again to us, Gutsy batch! 100% passing percentage plus one topnotcher sure is enough to prove that we're truly gutsy mentally and emotionally!

Road After Road

Well, this time, I won't make use of "school" as an entire excuse for not attending to my blog for a very long time. March and April was, let's just say, full of thrills. It's wholly related to school, but with a twist; we thought we lost the very goal we aimed for, the very goal each student wants to achieve  to graduate with pride and dignity.

Experience-wise, it did help me realize a lot of things and one of it is never to submit myself to that kind of situation ever again. Half of us had to go through the harsh side of reality, the very kind that's difficult to predict. It was purely a day filled with fear, shivers, and tears. That very day where I don't want to hear nor remember even up to this point.

It's over and done with, so it's time to brush it off my mind and attract myself towards the positive side.

On the last week of April, days after our graduation, until the second week of June, most of us were apparently stuck in Manila as temporary residents. Just like our glorious days as students, we had to sit the entire day in class, absorbing all informations we can from the lecture in preparation for the board examination. Hearing that word startles me, but I know God will help us, the gutsy batch, get through this.

Almost everything is difficult in Manila, especially the communication and transportation part. We had to adapt to the environment we're in, regardless of our endless nags. Whenever we go out of the condo, we deal with notorious drivers who don't seem to care about noise pollution, jeepney drivers who stop all of a sudden to pick up passengers anywhere they want, taxi drivers who don't honor "change", and dust infesting our light-colored shirts. That's nothing new in Manila, let alone those snatchers and undying fervor.

What made me feel in awe, though, is their highly urban cities that don't match with the usual vision we have of Manila. Those tall and well-lit buildings in Makati, "New York" feels in Bonifacio Global City, classy-looking Greenhills, and et cetera totally deviated me from the typical city vibes I encounter daily.

My not-so-short stay in Manila was, indeed, a fruitful one. Not only did I learn a lot from the review, I also get to see how to cook some meals I'm very poor at from my room mates who're good in cooking, realize how difficult independent living is, meet and greet few of my good online pals, and experience the poor service of this certain airline whose name I shall not mention.

I guess I have to end this post here since I've somehow managed to wrap everything in one post and that's a big yey for me.

Until then, Manila. Until then.

My Mini Paradise

I've decided to make an entry about my room since I believe it's also a part of knowing my style (or me in general) more. Perhaps, I should start with a picture of my lovely curtain.

I always make sure that I use curtains that match the wall of my room in order not to make my room look horrible.

Oftentimes, I surf the internet using my laptop or play with my phone on this comfy, single-sized bed. As much as I want to own a larger bed for me to roll over, I don't think my room can accommodate such size.

Left: On top of my study table are picture frames, some souvenirs I got from various debut parties I've attended, Christmas presents, and etc.

Right: On top of my cabinet are those cute stuffed toys (whatever you call that), mini jewelry drawer, Mickey Mouse hat clip (which I got from Hong Kong), and a jar of shells.

Meet my comfort buddies. The big Mickey Mouse and the one beside it (right) were given by my boyfriend as a Christmas gift and birthday gift, respectively. The Mickey Mouse with a jumpsuit and changshan, plus the cute flower were bought by my parents. Let's just leave the rest unexplained.

I need to doodle more stars and start doodling clouds for my wall. I love relaxing my feet this way, especially after standing several hours from duty.

I don't think I still need to elaborate on this. By seeing this picture alone, you can already pinpoint where my novel books and reference books are placed.

I've opted not to include my closet on this entry since I don't want to make this entry long and tiring to read. I'll try my very best to make a post of my closet soon, though. :)

Instagram: The Food Hopping Saga Continues

Just because I don't blog here often, doesn't actually mean I'm inactive online. It's just that when laziness strikes, I make use of my Instagram account to keep track of my somewhat daily life. All thanks to my phone and to the Instagram team for allowing me to post my adventures in just one click! I'm sure 2/4 of the Philippine population makes use of Instagram as their mini blog nowadays. It may be accessible and more convenient than running your own blog, but I'd still prefer blogging over begging for likes through hashtags (not applicable to everyone). I guess blogging has already been a part of me since I started out eight years ago.
My Instagram, by the way, doesn't focus on food alone, but also on things that catch my interest.. and selfies, haha. It's, more or less, a compilation of my personal life.
**Note: Applications used for the photos are Afterlight ($0.99) and VSCO cam (free).

Change is Inevitably Constant

{ Sunnies from Dickies, Top from Forever 21, DIY ombré shorts }
I used to wear clothes from boys department back in my elementary years and skull-printed shirts and jeans in high school. I was even mistaken as a lesbian due to the way I talk and walk. People (and even myself) thought that there's a slim chance for me to transform into a lady, but then our wild guess proved us wrong. Actually, the present me is gradually embracing the femininity in me which sounds great, so I can discover my new interests and whatnot.
I do believe in the saying, "Change is the only constant thing in this world", and that actually proves my unexplainable transformation throughout the years. Some people find the new me interesting, but I'm sure there are those who're slightly against it. But what can I do? I've turned like this not because of the influences brought by people nor the internet, but because I've chosen this path. Maybe it's time for me to let go of my boyish self and embrace femininity bit by bit.

Hearts Day

Happy Valentine's day to everyone out there. I hope you had a wonderful day with your loved ones today. If you ask me, I did enjoy my evening with my outgoing friends (and boyfriend) despite the heavy traffic. :)

January Blues

From yesterday's procession.

Just so you know, a lot of things happened this month. From smiles to tears, everything seems to be so mashed up.

***

In one of our exams, I was accused of communicating with my classmate via eye-to-eye contact. My classmate, on the other hand, was accused of staring at someone else's paper when in fact, he was only staring at his test paper. We were deeply hurt by such false accusations. To make things worse, our teacher automatically placed zero on our test paper even without hearing our side! When we approached her, she was mad hearing our side of the story because she's very much certain that she saw us cheating and she doesn't want to appear as the one making up stories! Of course, it was unjust on our part to get that kind of punishment.  As what she said, she doesn't want to judge us, but ironically, she did.

I know it's an unfortunate event for both my classmate and I, but we're confident that we're innocent and God knows we're telling the truth. What's the point of sleeping late at night and waking up early in the morning reviewing our notes when we'll only end up copying our classmate's answers?

This isn't actually the first time that a certain issue sprouted between our teachers and their students. Our teachers can be very abusive of their powers, especially on those students whom they despise the most.

P.S. My mom and sister knows about it and they were actually mad hearing the story, but then, they advised me not to make this issue worse. I'm aware that they're teachers and I'm merely a student, struggling to pass every subject I took this semester. If I continue fighting for justice, I'm sure they'll do some alterations on my grades due to their overflowing hatred towards me.

Forgive me for being melancholic, I just felt bad about that incident (who wouldn't anyway?) and for not being able to enjoy one of the biggest highlights for this year: Sinulog 2013! Screw midterm examination for taking such fun event from us, *** students!

But then, I'm willing to sacrifice temporary fun for a better future. It's alright, self. It's alright. At least, I was able to join the procession yesterday. :)

Let's Start 2013 With A Bang!

Good bye, 2012. Hello, 2013!

Another year means another challenges to come and another memories to make. Let's not forget to pray to the Lord for giving us another year to enjoy! :)

A Sweet Tooth Morning

This is how I started my Tuesday morning. Nothing great to blog about, seriously. Just let the photo do the talking for now, alright?

The picture says it all

Donuts

Curtain

Miki, my slightly notorious dog.

Reisz's Day

Family bonding

That kid on the upper right side of the picture, by the way, is my niece, Reisz. She asked me to take a picture of her while waiting for our food. (Haha) It's not her birthday, but I opt to name this entry as "Reisz's day" because I can't think of any other decent title at all.

Yesterday, my family (excluding my father and brother) and I went to the mall to look for Reisz's costume for their upcoming Halloween party. Sorry, but I'll have to keep her outfit a secret so as to make it sound 'special'. Hush hush.

After choosing the simple, yet best costume for my ever-adorable niece, we went to SM Food Court for dinner. Mama Gie will always be mom and dad's favorite whenever they dine at Food Court. Their food is very much affordable and delicious, most especially their boneless milkfish and lechon kawali. I know you can afford to cook these viands yourself, but the way they prepare their food makes it irresistibly delicious that you want to have some more.
